Gayle A. Kern, Esq. is a shareholder with Leach Kern Gruchow Song. Ms. Kern is one of just over 175 attorneys in the United States to be inducted into the College of Community Association Lawyers (CCAL) and one of only five—including John Leach and Cheri Hauer also of LKG—in the state of Nevada.
In practice for more than 34 years, she focuses on a general civil practice with an emphasis on all types of common-interest communities including condominiums; townhomes; landscape maintenance; single family; master and sub associations; and mobile home parks, as well as litigation, bankruptcy, and real property law. Ms. Kern began representing associations approximately twenty-eight years ago and currently serves as counsel to over two hundred fifty associations throughout Northern Nevada.
Ms. Kern lectures regularly and teaches seminars on common-interest community law. She serves on the Community Associations Institute’s Legislative Action Committee, which participates in review and comment on legislation affecting common-interest communities and regulations promulgated by the Ombudsman and Nevada Real Estate Division. Ms. Kern worked with the Real Estate Division in the development of the first community manager exam and is approved by the Real Estate Division to teach classes to community managers. She regularly attends CAI’s National Law Seminars to keep apprised of new developments in the industry—not only in Nevada, but throughout the country. As a member of CAMEO, she is an approved instructor for many of their classes.
Ms. Kern is proud to have served as the president of her own homeowners’ association and knows first-hand the challenges her clients face.
